Kenneth Andrew Jeyaretnam, 50
CEC member, Secretary General
Kenneth Andrew Jeyaretnam is the current Secretary-General of the Reform Party in Singapore. Prior to his appointment as the leader of the Reform Party, he was a fund manager of a fund that he set up from 2004 to 2008, following a successful career of more than 20 years in financial industry. His career in the finance industry was seen in various appointments in some of the most illustrious companies including HSBC, Continental Banks, Banque Indosue, Lehman Brothers and Nomura.
Kenneth attended St Andrew’s School and United World College of South East Asia in Singapore. He completed his National Service in 1980 and then attended Cambridge University where he studied economics, graduating with Double First Class Honours in 1983.
Kenneth is the eldest son of the late opposition politician Joshua Benjamin Jeyaretnam. In 2009, he joined the Reform party and began to play an active role in Singapore politics. He started contributing articles on economic themes to the popular Singaporean online blog, The Online Citizen. He gave his first public "political" speech alongside other prominent opposition politicians at a memorial event held in memory of his father in Hong Lim Park on New Year's Eve 2008. It was here that Kenneth first spoke of his belief that it was possible for Singapore to have both prosperity and liberty. During this period he also started working with prominent non-partisan groups in their campaign to have a chair elected in his father's name and in establishing a foundation for study which will sponsor Singaporean students in Human Rights Law and Politics. He regular spoke at seminars and conferences on the economic issues of Singapore. |

Edmund Ng, 36
CEC member, Chairman
Edmund participated in 2006 General Election in Tampines GRC under the banner of Singapore Democratic Alliance. The team polled 31.49% of the total votes casted. He joined the Reform Party when it was formed by J B Jeyaretnam in 2008. He was appointed the Chairman of the party earlier this year.
Edmund is a self made entrepreneur. He founded an Internet Service company called Internet-Empire.com which was nominated for 2006 Spirit Enterprise Award. He is current the President and Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Edmund wants to work for a real change in the political scene in Singapore and wants to focus on issues such as unemployment, entreprenuership, education and housing. |

James, Teo Kian Chye. 50
CEC member, Treasurer
James is an entrepreneur with businesses in Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia. In Singapore he runs a design and printing company. He also has F & B businesses in Brunei and Indonesia.
James graduated from National University of Singapore in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, after completing his national service in 1980. He actively participated in Singapore politics and was the chief election agent of the Workers’ Party team for East Coast GRC election contest in 2006.
James wants to work for a more equitable Singapore society. He feels that the Singapore government is disconnected with grassroots. Many of its elitist policies do not augur well for the development of Singapore. Specifically, he sees an urgent need for both political and economic development in Singapore at this stage of nation building. |

Tony, Tan Lay Thiam (陳禮添), 39
CEC member
Tony joined the Party and became a member of Central Executive Committee of the Party in 2009. He is the Chief Executive Officer of a private education provider, which he co-founded in 2001. The company under his leadership was a recipient of a Singapore Prestige Brand Award in 2007. Prior to setting up the company, Tony was a SAF military officer serving in various operations and planning roles from 1992 to 2000. He held the rank of a Major when he left the service.
Tony is an active participant and contributor in social and community services such as Straits Time School Pocket Fund, Singapore Thong Chai Medical Institution and Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society. Recently he worked together with NKF Community Partnership to offer free tutorial classes to children of NKF patients. Tony is also an active promoter of entrepreneurship
in Singapore. He volunteered as a mentor to guide team participating in the annual Singapore startup.org organized by National University of Singapore. He also mentored students in schools and polytechnics as part of the Spirit of Enterprise school programme.
Tony attained a Bachelor degree and Master with the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom in 1992 and 1997 respectively. In 1998, he completed a MBA with Leicester University, United Kingdom. He obtained his second degree (BSc) in BioMed from Central Queensland University, Australia in 2006.
He is married and has two children.
He hopes to see a “Singapore for Singaporeans”
where we look out for each other, defend what we have built and fight for what we believe in; where schools are places that help our children grow stronger and more confident of leading meaningful lives; where universities are places where creativity, entrepreneurship and research triumph over GPAs; where parents are confident about the future of their children and education is free; where the aged and destitute are looked after and volunteers abound; and, where Singaporeans participate actively in politics, contribute to policy making and help determine the country’s direction. |

Justin Ong Wei-Shi, 25.
CEC member and leader of The Reform Party Youth Wing
Justin is a corporate banker in a GLC. He obtained an Honours Degree in Political Science from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and currently serves on the NUS Political Science Alumni Association as an Ex-Co member. On campus, Justin was active in various student committees and held several leadership positions in his hall of residence. At NUS, Justin also received an academic award to participate in an overseas student exchange programme in Budapest, Hungary.
Justin joined the Reform Party soon after graduation with the belief that both economic and political competitiveness is much needed for the advancement of Singapore. Due to his active involvement with youth and the excellent programmes he initiated, Justin was appointed leader of the Youth Wing of the Reform Party, known as the Young Reformers. He was later co-opted onto the CEC with responsibility for youth issues.
As a youth leader, Justin is idealistic about an equitable political scene in which open and competitive elections can take place. Justin passionately believes that an attitudinal change in youths is critical for the country to progress as an active, dynamic and innovative society. He regards political participation to be a meritorious and patriotic undertaking, one that is key to the development of Singapore's public institutions. In addition to launching the Young Reformers, he hosts the Youth Wing meet-the-people session every Tuesday night.
Apart from being an enthusiastic operationally-ready national serviceman, Justin writes fiction in his free time and swims for leisure.
