The Reform Party Central Executive committee convened today May 17th to put in place the first steps of its 5 year Master Plan, to confirm new appointments, to approve membership applications and to schedule forthcoming events.

New Appointments

Firstly we are delighted to announce that Mr Frankie Low and Mr Mohamed Mansor, veterans of the Party’s GE 2011contest in West Coast GRC and Ang Mo Kio GRC respectively, have elected to remain with the Reform Party. We welcome their veteran experience and expect that their presence will aid in strengthening future ties with other parties.

CEC co-opted two new members to the Reform Party pro-tem CEC.

Osman Sulaiman

Osman Sulaiman

Osman Bin Sulaiman, 36, a full-time human resource supervisor, is currently pursuing a professional certificate in human resource management from the Singapore Human Resource Institute (SHRI). Osman was the team leader for the Reform Party Ang Mo Kio GRC team in GE 2011. Earlier, he was involved in running Tabung Amal Aidilfitri (TAA) fund raising activities in year 2004 managing 12 road shows island-wide. Osman believes in contributing back to society through working the ground and helping the poor and destitute to improve their quality of lives. He feels strongly that everyone has a duty to help others.

Frankie Low

Frankie Low

Frankie Low, 51, is the CEO and President of several companies, starting his own business in 1991 and expanding to China, Malaysia and the Asian region. Mr Low joined the Reform Party as a significant move towards alternative Party unity and possible alliance between Singapore alternative parties. He has extensive experience participating in grassroots activities, policy proposals and working agendas. Frankie was a valued member and candidate for the Reform Party team contesting West Coast GRC in 2011.

Initiation of 5 year Master Plan

Progress was made on the following areas outlined in our 5 year master plan.

Strengthening and expansion of Reform Party Women’s Wing

Ms Ho Soak Harn, Head of The Reform Party Women’s Wing proposed two deputy heads and regional directors to aid her. These appointments were formally approved by CEC. We welcome Ms. Selinna Tsang and Ms Soraya Buchannan who were both tireless and dedicated volunteers during The Reform Party West Coast GRC campaign for GE 2011. They are also veteran grassroots campaigners and residents of West Coast GRC where they will continue the Party’s work on the ground.

Local Constituent Branches

In accordance with our constitution and our 5 year plan the CEC formalized and approved the initiation of 3 new regional branches. These are Reform Party branches for West Cost GRC, Pioneer SMC and Tanjong Pagar GRC. The aim of the branches is to allow the party to grow and to bring in a new and diverse membership close to the ground. The Branches will also focus on resident feedback on local issues, on building on the Party’s established grassroots outreach base and cementing ties already established. Each branch has its own committee and a dedicated Facebook page.
